Near Sigulda there is a grave of Latvian maiden called Roze of Turaida. In the far-off days
of the 17th centuary Roze chose death rather than infidelity to her beloved thus becomoming a symbol
of true love. According to legend the sad events took place in Gutmanala( it iswell knowed cave). Roze's grave has become
one of the most frequented sites by newly-weds.
One more place that you have to visit is Erglu(Ergelu) roks because it is a mighty majestic wall emerging from the depths of the river Gauja.
These rocks are the highest and most impressive in the ancient river valley by far surpassing all other rocks
and stones in Latvia. The wall height is 22 metrs. The hight multicoloured breathtaking formation
is worth seeing, indeed. The total lenght of these rocks is about 1 km.
