Kurzeme

Kurzeme is one of the regions of Latvia. It borders with Lihuania and Baltic sea. Biggest cities of this region are Ventspils, Liepaja, Kuldiga, Kandava, Talsi. There are also many smaller cities, towns and villiges. In this region the same as in other three regions are many old castles and some other wonders of nature.

One of the things that you as a tourist have to see at first is Ventas rumba - waterfall of the river Venta. The waterfall is formed by a sharp 2 m high stile in the river dolomite bed. Ventas rumba is the widest waterfall in Europe, its normal width is more than 240 m.
Besides of Ventas rumba(waterfall), there are more waterfalls in Kurzeme. Those waterfalls are the Abava rumba (waterfall), the Renda waterfalls

If we talk about castles and palaces in Kurzeme I have to mention the Jaunpils palace, Vecauce palace, the Peleci palace, the Jaunmokas palace, the Durbes palace, the Ēdole palace. Of course those palaces that I have mentioned are only a small part of all palaces that have been built in Kurzeme in lenght of time. Some of the castles alredy have been renewed, many still are very old, therefore in some of then tourists can not go inside. But still it is worth to come and see them from outsidel.

There are many people who come to Latvia only to see our churches. Of course those who are old. For example such churches are Alsunga church who has been built in 1567, Priekule church (1792), the Saldus church (1737).
As I said before, Latvia have many wonders of nature like wellsprings and caves.
